InSilicoTrials (IST), a pioneering innovator in the field of clinical trials and\u00a0healthcare technology, has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Innovation\u00a0<\/span>Radar Prize in the AI and Smart Devices category. This recognition comes as a\u00a0<\/span>testament to IST\u2019s commitment to revolutionize drug and medical device\u00a0<\/span>development by harnessing the power of in silico technology.<\/span><\/p>

The Innovation Radar Prize, initiated by the European Commission in 2015, celebrates innovators who have received EU funding and are working to\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>transition their innovations from the laboratory to the market. This year\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Innovation Radar Summit, held in Lisbon in partnership with Eura AG, Deal-\u00a0<\/span>room.co, the European Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA), Startup Lisboa, and\u00a0<\/span>Microsoft, showcased the most promising innovations that have the potential\u00a0<\/span>to transform industries and improve the quality of life for people across Europe.<\/span><\/p>

The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) recently\u00a0spotlighted InSilicoTrials as a finalist in this prestigious competition. They\u00a0<\/span>detailed in an article how three HaDEA beneficiaries, including IST, were among\u00a0<\/span>the 12 finalists. <\/span><\/p>

IST is actively involved in four projects funded under Horizon 2020\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>or Horizon Europe, further solidifying our commitment to advancing healthcare\u00a0<\/span>and pharmaceutical research:<\/span><\/p>

  • SimCardioTest (Horizon 2020): SimCardioTest is an international project that\u00a0brings together 10 organizations from 6 European countries and the United\u00a0<\/span>States. It aims to provide new insights into designing predictive tools for cardiac\u00a0<\/span>pathologies and to accelerate the uptake of computer simulations for testing\u00a0<\/span>medicines and medical devices.<\/span><\/li>
  • BRAINTEASER (Horizon 2020): BRAINTEASER is a data science project that\u00a0seeks to exploit the value of big data, including those related to health, lifestyle\u00a0<\/span>habits, and environment, to support patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis\u00a0<\/span>and multiple sclerosis and their clinicians.<\/span><\/li>
  • In Silico World (Horizon 2020): Its aim is to accelerate the uptake of modelling\u00a0and simulation technologies for the development and regulatory assessment of\u00a0<\/span>medicines and medical devices. The project will develop 11 solutions leveraging\u00a0<\/span>state-of-the-art computational technologies to treat osteoporosis, tuberculosis,\u00a0<\/span>multiple sclerosis, coronary stenosis, cerebral aneurysms, mammary carcino-\u00a0<\/span>ma, and covid-19 infection.<\/span><\/li>
  • METASTRA (Horizon Europe): The project is set to transform the way clinicians\u00a0assess fracture risk in cancer patients with vertebral metastases and promises\u00a0<\/span>to provide personalised treatment recommendations based on robust\u00a0<\/span>computational models and improved patient stratification techniques.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
